Love is Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton being couple goals once more.
The singers recently collaborated on a cover of The Judds' "Love Is Alive" for the upcoming album, A Tribute to The Judds, which honors the mother-daughter country duo, Wynonna Judd and Naomi Judd, who died by suicide in April 2022 at age 76.
The "Just a Girl" artist and country singer put a spin on the original song—which was off The Judds' 1984 hit album Why Not Me—with Gwen taking over lead vocals and Blake hitting the harmonies. During the chorus, the two beautifully belt out, "Love is alive / And at our breakfast table / Every day of the week / Love is alive / And it grows everyday and night / Even in our sleep."
"Love Is Alive" marks the first single of the upcoming album, which is set to release Oct. 27 on BMG in honor of the 40th anniversary of the musical group.
Gwen Stefani Gives Double Shout-Out to Blake Shelton
And the song couldn't be more fitting for Gwen and Blake, who tied the knot in July 2021, less than a year after the "God's Country" artist popped the question.
Gwen, 53 and Blake, 47, first started dating after working as co-judges on The Voice in 2015. At the time, the two bonded over their divorces: Blake was ending his marriage to Miranda Lambert, who he wed in 2011, and recalled confiding in Gwen about his split. "I won't forget that day," he told Billboard in 2016. "I looked over at Gwen—who I didn't really know—and she had these huge tears in her eyes. I thought, 'Wow, she feels super bad for me!'"
Perhaps Gwen could relate to the heartbreak. In 2016 the former No Doubt member split up from husband Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 9.
"That's kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day," Blake continued. "It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email—'This s--t happened to me, what happened to you?'—to maybe three times a week, then every day, to 'Hey, here's my phone number if you ever want to text.' Next thing I know, I wake up and she's all I care about, and I'm wondering if she feels the same about me."
Fast forward eight years, and it's safe to say Gwen absolutely feels the same.
"Blake is the greatest guy," she gushed to Stellar magazine in 2021. "I look back over the past few years and look at pictures of when I first started kissing Blake, and I look the best I've ever looked in my life in those photos."
And if you can't get enough of Gwen and Blake's love, keep scrolling to see the couple's cutest quotes about one another.
"I think he's hot, don't you? But to be super honest, it is kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time. There's been so many people that I've gotten so much comfort from. Just people coming to me and telling me their story. Not confiding, but sharing, which has just helped me see things from a different perspective and move forward." —Gwen to Ryan Seacrest in November 2015
"How can I not be [in love]? She is the greatest. She is the greatest." —Blake on Today in March 2018.
"When you have a broken heart—at least, when I do—you got to get it out of your system. You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell...Gwen saved my life. Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician?" —Blake to Billboard in July 2016
"I grew up in Orange County, so I don't know if you've been down there, but it's nothing like the middle of America and our nature was the beach. So to be able to be in Oklahoma and be able to experience a ranch kind of vibe is just something I never ever had, so it's just been really, it's been great, amazing." —Gwen on Jimmy Kimmel Live in August 2020
"You know, what? I love weddings. The kids love him. We love him. Everybody loves him. He is lovable! I think about it all the time." —Gwen to Ellen DeGeneres when discussing marrying Blake
"He doesn't even like to do a photo shoot. You can never convince him to do it. So he just called me like, ‘They want me to do this.' And I was like, ‘You should totally do it! You're so sexy!'" —Gwen's reaction to Blake being named People's Sexiest Man Alive
"[My style is] more feminine than ever before. It's probably because I'm super in love and have a really manly man. I enjoy letting that part of me come out now because when I was in No Doubt, I never thought of myself as sexy. Even in my 30s, I was a tomboy. I hardly ever carried a purse." —Gwen to InStyle in July 2018
"Setting here watching @gwenstefani rehearsals it continues to shock me the amount of GIANT hits this girl has written... I highly recommend y'all catch her Vegas show if you can get tickets!!!" —Blake on Twitter in June 2018
"He's so good at the show, I mean, he's just so magical. Blake is literally a unicorn. Like anywhere he goes, people are just attracted to him, and he's such an incredible talent." —Gwen on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live in September 2019
